Blurkey
Chicken came to live with me on February 5, 2003. She was
rescued after being left behind in a cage to starve to
death.
She's now happy
and well-fed. She has trained me to be her pet horsie. Her
favorite activities are riding on my back, digging deep cool
holes to lie in, sitting on my lap or on the back of a chair and
looking over my shoulder to read my book, walking on my laptop,
and talking about her day. She has quite a vocabulary and lets
me know when she wants to go outside, go inside, roam around,
eat more of a certain food, or just chill out in my lap. Her
favorite foods are tomatoes, oatmeal cookies, popcorn, peanut
bits, whole grain bread, and all the special treats I bring home
for her.

Update: Blurkey died of old
age on June 29, 2006. A chunk of my heart dies with her. May you live on,
Blurkey, in blurkeyheaven -- you'll always be a part of me. Thank you for
your love, your companionship, and your friendship all these years. You
will always be loved, Blurkey -- you are always loved.
