Waldo the Attack Pigeon

Waldo the Attack Pigeon was 'given' to me by Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation Center on July 1, 2000. He had apparently been raised by a human. Waldo was discovered living outside a dance studio, where he was attacking the people who would come in and out of the studio. A kind man took him home, but Waldo soon began attacking anyone who visited the man! Even the mailman had refused to deliver mail because of the attack pigeon. The kind man was forced to deliver Waldo up to the Wildlife Center.

On July 1, I was at the center trying to help them with their computers. However, as much as I worked and worked, I could not get the computer to recognize the modem! I was so frustrated because I can do lots of fancy things on a computer and yet I couldn't accomplish this simple task. I'm not sure if Waldo was my reward or my punishment, but he came home with me that day!

So Waldo traveled back from Dallas to Austin. I bought him a large cage, but he didn't like it. He shared a bedroom with me until he tried to eat Giselle Dove. Then he moved into the aviary where he promptly married Juliette. Waldo and I used to occasionally fight over roosting spots (I was perfectly willing to share, but Waldo was not so keen on the idea!), but we get along famously. Waldo doesn't like to go outside; he prefers the indoors. He likes to walk on my computer keyboard while I'm typing, and he's created some interesting documents carefully transcribed in secret pigeon code. He enjoys attacking people, reading books, attacking people, watching TV, attacking people, listening to music, and attacking people.
