Tube Feeding a Baby Pigeon |
|||
|
This page is meant to supplement the instructions on tube feeding a pigeon. Please read through those instructions and pay careful attention to the anatomy of a pigeon. Then use this page for additional instructions on the tube feeding process. If you find an orphaned pigeon too young to eat by himself, you will need to tube feed him. Tube feeding is not difficult, but it must be done knowledgeably and carefully to avoid harming the bird. CAUTION: If you do not have experience with birds, please just mix the formula (as describe in this tutorial) and put the food directly into the pigeon's mouth, NOT into the crop. Crop feeding is for people with experience with birds or similar wildlife rescue. You can keep the bird alive by simply mouth-feeding several times a day! After reading tube feeding a pigeon you may wish to read through these instructions, which include more detailed photographs. copyright © 1999-2007 Austin Duck Police |
